Kasparov in Kenya!



Dear Chess Friends,
You are cordially invited to the Closing Ceremony of the Kenya National Chess Championships 2013, proudly sponsored by the Tamil Cultural Association of Kenya.
Chess Kenya will have the pleasure of presenting the legendary GM Garry Kasparov, former World Chess Champion and inspiration to many. He is on a mission to promote Chess activities in Kenya and across Africa, specifically Chess in Schools through the Kasparov Chess Foundation.
GM Garry Kasparov will give a speech. There also be a brief Q&A and photo session.

Venue: Simba Union Club (Sikh Union), Next to Premier Academy along Forest Road, Nairobi Main Hall.
Time (Closing Ceremony 1700hours Sunday 7th July)
All Chess Friends are welcome and we will assure Chess Kenya members of priority placement.

For the record, of course 2851 was surpassed by Magnus “Thor” Carlsen who stands at 2862.
A very good boost for the Kenya National Chess Championships and Chess in Kenya in particular. That is the kind of exposure chess in Africa needs. My best regards to the organizers of this event.
